Meet the Staff

The Bear & Bison Country Inn Team

The Bear & Bison Team is a collection of highly motivated professionals whose individual skill sets combine to create a unique experience for the visitor to the Canadian Rockies. Because of our combined experience and our unique resources we set the standard for high quality accommodation and food service in the Bow Valley.

Marc

Concierge and Bartender Extraordinaire

From his start at LíAuberge Le Rouet Montreal, where he was a social director/server, Marc has been praised for his customer service skills.  Having moved out to Western Canada in 1998, he has worked at various ski hills, restaurants and hotels and has gained a fantastic knowledge of the area.

Since 2005, he is the proud father of a young boy to whom it seems he has passed on his politeness, good positive outlook on life and strong work ethic.

Marc has been part of the Bear and Bison team since May 2011. You only need to take a look at Trip Advisor to see how many times our guests have appreciated his care and attention.

Charlotte

Assistant Manager / Wedding Hostess

Charlotte came to the rockies for a winter and her love for mountains & weddings has extended her stay indefinitely. With her background as a wedding, portrait and nature photographer, Charlotte can recommend many scenic hikes & local hideouts in Canmore. Some of her photos can be seen in the hallways of the Inn, she can direct you to where they were all taken for some extra sight-seeing!

She will be your guide throughout your wedding day or during your stay.

Dave

Director of Housekeeping and Building Maintenance

Dave brings to our team 5 years of experience in the hotel industry. Dedicated to providing guests with comfort and attention to detail, he now heads our housekeeping and maintenance departments and will be happy to attend to any of your special requests and needs.

Lonny Middleton

Founder & Exec Chef

Lonny Middleton first came to the Canadian Rockies from Vancouver in 1990 as an apprentice Chef at the Banff Springs Hotel. His career took him overseas to the Dolder Grand in Zurich, the Hilton in Paris and onboard the Royal Viking Sun, the #1 rated Cruise Ship at the time.

In 1997 he came home to Banff with his British wife Fiona. Their skills in the hospitality field honed in on the need for a first class intimate Inn experience in Canmore Alberta. The building of the Inn was a dream come true for the couple who now spend their time between the Rockies and the Gulf Island where they are dreaming up another treat for their guests.
